The Swiss Society of Victoria financially supported a wonderful, very popular yearly event for the elderly members and friends of the Swiss Club of Victoria. It was free of charge and attracted nearly 90 people at the Swiss Club for a late lunch, a fantastic dancing performance in traditional Swiss costumes by the Swiss Folk Dance Group Alpenrose and an impressive yodel performance by the Swiss Yodel Choir Matterhorn. The social afternoon was enjoyed by everyone and many reconnected with friends they hadn’t seen for a while. There were also many door prises to be won and everyone left with a bag of homemade Guetzli. A big thank you to the members of the Trachtengruppe Schwyzergruess ASCS and all the volunteers who helped baking Guetzli, decorate the room and tables with hand painted Christmas ornaments, candles and baubles. They worked hard serving all attendees, did all the dishes and left the room spotless at the end.
