The Victorian Swiss and their friends celebrated Swiss National Day at the Upper Ferntree Gully Football Club on Sunday the 6th August 2023.
This was a free community event organised by the Matterhorn Choir of Melbourne and supported by the Swiss Society of Victoria. A cold and sunny, but not wet day greeted the many Swiss and their friends, who attended the event. Traditional Swiss catering included Swiss Sausages, pastries, Raclette and Glühwein.
The Yodelers presented their best songs and were also joined by the Companion singers and traditional Swiss music.
The official program included the first of August speech by the president of the Federal Council, Alain Berset and a welcome by the Hon. Counsul of Victoria, Mrs. Manuela Erb.
Altogether it was a very successful day, with many friends being able to catch up with others from around Victoria.
