This year’s Mystery Trip / Fahrt ins Blaue was attended by over 100 members of our Victorian Swiss community. Sylvia and the ladies from the Trachtengruppe, after pickups in the city and Bundoora, took us to the historic homestead of Mont De Lancey. We visited the estate, enjoyed some home made biscuits and explored the various buildings and traditional crafts on display, we also discovered some links to Swiss settlers who lived in the Yarra Valley back in those days.
From there we travelled to the Warburton Hotel for a traditional roast lunch. The ladies had organised a raffle and all attendees had a great time catching up over a traditional roast lunch; some entertained the group with a few songs and we even spotted a game of Jassen being played. Overall it was a great day, which was attended by the Honorary Consul, Manuel Erb and the President of the Swiss Society, Patrick Albert.
Thank you Sylvia and Team for making organising this event and allowing some of our older members (the oldest attendee was 95) to get out and about and reconnect with others that they wouldn’t get to see otherwise.
Looking forward to next year’s Mystery Trip!
